Sydney + John | Engagement

We met for coffee, and I instantly loved them. I'm not even kidding. I had such a fun time hearing all about their story, and I especially loved hearing how they met. Needless to say, I left that evening feeling like I had just caught up with old friends rather than meeting them for the first time. That only made me even more excited for their engagement session.

Clare and Miles chose the beautiful Mills Rose Garden in Des Moines as the backdrop for documenting their love story, and it could not have been more perfect. Knowing what incredible humans they are, I had a feeling it would be a wonderful session. Was I a little worried earlier in the day about the wind and possible showers? Absolutely. But thankfully, everything came together perfectly.

The Mills Rose Garden never disappoints for photos, no matter the season. During the summer months, though, it is especially magical when the roses are in full bloom. I’m so glad we were able to capture these moments for Clare and Miles in such a beautiful setting!
